Convertible Sun Protection for Littles
Babies under 6 months shouldn’t wear sunscreen. Outdoor families still need options.

Questions Parents Ask Before Buying
Is Chuckwalla clothing UPF rated?
Yes. Chuckwalla pieces are made with independently lab-tested, UPF-rated fabrics, with a goal of UPF 40+ or higher across every style. The UPF protection comes from the fabric itself, not a chemical UV treatment. UPF 40+ blocks at least 97.5% of UV rays from reaching covered skin.
My baby grows so quickly. How long will the Chuckwalla Sun Romper last?
Every baby grows at their own pace, but the extra length and soft stretch are designed to give each size more room to grow, helping it stay in rotation through more of the season.
What makes the Chuckwalla romper different?
Our romper is designed with convertible coverage for changing outdoor days: a protective hood for sun and wind, fold-over cuffs for little hands and feet, and UPF 50+ rated fabric. It helps parents adjust coverage without needing a full outfit change.
How should I use Chuckwalla gear on hot days?
Chuckwalla helps protect covered skin from UV rays, but it does not replace shade, airflow, hydration, or heat awareness. Our fabrics are soft and breathable, and parents should always watch conditions closely to help prevent overheating.
Do I still need sunscreen with UPF clothing?
UPF clothing helps protect covered skin, but any exposed skin still needs sun protection. For babies under 6 months, follow your pediatrician’s guidance and prioritize shade, protective clothing, and avoiding direct sun.
